Mum’s Bruschetta

Recipe Brief

The recipe I chose for this project is my mum’s Bruschetta recipe which she used to make for her friends in fancy parties and social gatherings. This was also the first quick dish I was taught to make to impress my friends with when I was in secondary school. Therefore, I wanted to visually present my recipe book in a nostalgic, somewhat fancy, and playful way that appeals to young teenagers.

The illustrations were made by tissue paper collage which is reminiscent to me as I used to make paper collage recipes as a child. I also used bright paper colours that appeal to a younger audience, and to make the illustrations vibrant and appear playful. But to give it the ‘fancy’ look I wanted to achieve, I placed the illustrations on a black background, and arranged the illustrations to appear formal.
